Liquor Review: Bacardi Peach Red

Bacardi Peach Red     Let’s see, how can I describe Bacardi Peach Red rum?  What the candy cigarette was to the tobacco world,  Bacardi Peach Red is to the liquor world.  Its taste is candy sweet and is sure to bring more “Sober Happy” people around to the side of liquor nirvana that we here at BoozeBasher call home.  In no time, some drinking newbie will be stealing your favorite seat down at the local watering hole.  Start bringing your own stool from the house because the cocktail drinkers may have found a new savior.

Bacardi Peach Red brings fresh peach flavor to the heart of any cocktail.  Sweet nectar from juicy California Freestone peaches is infused with Bacardi rum for the perfect peach taste.  If you like fruity drinks and peaches, this liquor is for you.  The average alcoholic or more than causal drinker probably wouldn’t go for this one, but everyone else will.  Peach Red is definitely meant for all those “girl-drink drunks” out there (check our forums under funny liquor stuff to see what I mean by girl-drink drunk).

Peach Red can be consumed straight, but I don’t recommend it.  It has an extremely overpowering sweet taste.  One sip from this sugary treat will have little Timmy running all over the house for a week.  It is almost too sweet to drink alone.  I’m guessing its true glory shines in mixing it in some kind of frozen drink.  That’s the big downside of this rum.  It can only be mixed with a frozen drink or with other stronger, more powerful liquors.  Nothing is worse than having a liquor that can’t be drunk straight or mixed with something that you would normally have around the house.  It’s too much of a liquor accessory rather than a liquor itself.  And forget getting drunk from Peach Red alone.  I couldn’t even finish the drunkability test because I was becoming crazy-hyper before gaining a real buzz.  There’s just no way to get drunk off this unless it’s lightly used in a tasty vodka drink.

With that said, I must admit women love Bacardi Peach Red.  Even girls that don’t drink are willing to try this rum, so that pretty much makes Peach Red a must around the house.  At $15 for a 750ml bottle, it wouldn’t be a horrible decision to go get one.  But be forewarned, hyper comes way before drunk.  So don’t use this stuff as a stand-alone in any mixed drink.

Bacardi Peach Red is definitely more for the ladies and newbies, but you should at least keep one bottle around for parties and such.  Just make sure you have enough of its big brothers around to make it drinkable.  So grab a bottle and partner it with your favorite vodka.  With a little luck and a couple of ladies, the night can be a fun one.

Is this 70 proof like its coconut bicardi counterpart?
The coconut one gets me slammed 50%/50% with pineapple juice…

    Maybe this one is sweeter…

Yes, it’s 70 proof, but it does no good when you can’t even drink the stuff.

This review is making it sound like it tastes like straight sugar and it doesn’t!

I have a much different opinion of Bacardi Peach than Wade. I, of course, am female so I’m sure that has alot to do with with our difference in opinion…..
I am a well seasoned drinker from way, way back, can hang with the best of ‘em and I happen to love the stuff. It does taste good & doesn’t make the weak drinker cringe at first sip but that’s a plus to me. It is great with OJ & guys if you really want to impress us girls with this, add some champagne to the peach & OJ….it’s quite lovely & since it taste so good it can be made STRONG. (or at least couple of shots or so per drink).
I’ve even had it with Cherry Pepsi or Cherry Coke & it was a good drink. Everyone I’ve intro’d to it had ended up a fan.
    Enjoy!!
