Yuck.

I just bought a bottle of the 6-year, and it is disgusting.

The aftertaste is strongly metallic. Nasty.

Either I got a bad batch, or this stuff is completely overhyped. Maybe the 18-year is better, but based on this experience I'm not eager to blow a lot of money to find out.

Sazerac old fashioned using fresh orange quarter squeezed, orange bitters and demerarra sugar, then flame an orange over it for aeromatics. This is the way i started drinking it about 3 years ago, nice to hear someone else agrees.Problem is, that was in the UK, now i live in Canada and not only has no one heard of it, but i cant find it anywhere and it is such a shame.
Have never tried it in a Manhatten, but could be interesting to play with.

Have fun and enjoy

Wow. I live in Belgrade, MT which is blessed with a 5 star liquor store that carries this and many other high-end liquors. I discovered this rye and have been making old-fashions with it for over a year. To stumble on this review and see someone else come to the same conclusion, makes me believe higher powers want man to imbibe in happiness and enjoy life.

Living 45 miles from the Buffalo Trace Distillery and an avid fan of Buffalo Trace Bourbon, I was recently introduced to Sazerac Rye by an employee of Buffalo Trace. I was overwhelmed. I fell in love with the Sazerac Rye. It is good straight over ice, mixed with our local Ale-8 soft drink, coke or pepsi. This is a drink I cannot put down.
