sat here right now in rainy south-west cornwall UK, just started on a bottle of the bush, first was with coke and ice, second (on now) straight on ice…and must say, the latter is the better! ..oh yeah, did i mention, morrisons right now £13.99 a bottle…mmmm….bushmills-8/10 marks.

I’ve been to Bushmills distrillery. They offer a great tour, and they take pains to point out the differences in the making and taste of Irish compared to Scotch and other whiskeys. I like their Plack Bush – aged in used Sherry casks – better. If you can find the single malt instead of the blended, it is worth it.

Buhsmills has been my first liquor of choice for many years for all of the reasons described so accurately in this review. The Irish have really had much practice at distilling whiskies with character and smoothness of a sort that you can consume (and want to continue consuming) mass quantities. (Every stereotype has a grain of truth, eh?) Not long ago I tried another Irish called

Agreed. I have a bottle of Black Bush that has been zealously consumed. It’s wonderful on the rocks, but if the original Bushmills is anything like Black Bush, try it on the rocks with just a splash of Sprite. I liked it, anyway.
